I'm writing this as an adult looking back, with no interest in sharing intimate details. I remember being embarrassed about bedwetting when I was younger. What stayed with me was whether adults sounded annoyed or calm. I wish someone had simply said, 'We'll sort the bedding out.'
The practical, calm response would have meant a lot to me too. Being made to feel like extra work is the part I remember.
I appreciate being able to talk about how that felt without turning it into a detailed account. There's plenty to say about shame and kindness on their own.
